What We Collect

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, visit durations on certain pages, page interaction data, and methods used to navigate away from a page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

How We Collect

When you conduct a transaction on our website, we collect personal information you provide, such as your name, address, and email address. Your personal information will be used only for the specific reasons stated above.

Why We Collect Data

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

1. To provide and operate the Services;

2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages;

4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services;

5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

How we store, share and disclose your data

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored by Wix.com’s data storage, databases, and general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the PCI DSS standards, managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

Personal Data

If you decide to have therapy with me, I will ask you to complete a simple one-page paper form with basic details, including your name, address and phone number. I am committed to ensuring that your information is secure. To prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, I have implemented suitable electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard the information collected from you.

You have a right to request to see the data I hold about you. Legally, I am required to respond within 30 days. Please contact me if you would like to access your data. There is no charge for information access.

After each therapy session, I will make some basic notes in a password-protected document to remind me of what we discussed. My notes are "pseudonymised", i.e. they do not mention your name and instead use a code based on your initials. After we have finished working together, I will transfer the notes from my computer to a password-protected storage device. The notes will normally be deleted 7 years after we finish working together.

Under data legislation (specifically the General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR), I am the "data controller" for this data, and the lawful basis on which I process it is that of "legitimate interests"; in other words, I have a legitimate interest in recording and keeping this data to enable me to do my job as your therapist. When we first meet, I will usually also ask for your agreement to this, and so your consent is an additional lawful basis for the processing.

You have a number of rights under the GDPR, including the right to see your data and amend it if it is incorrect. You can also ask for it to be deleted before the usual 7-year period has elapsed. You can read the full details of your rights and other aspects of the GDPR on the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) website.

I would be required to break confidentiality and contact an external authority about you in the very unlikely event that I believed that there was a risk that you would cause serious harm to yourself or to someone else, particularly a child, or that you were involved in a murder, terrorism or money-laundering offence. In addition, I could be compelled by a Court order or a police warrant to release your data (including my notes) to the authorities.

In addition, I am required by my professional counselling organisations to obtain supervision for all client work to ensure I continue to offer a high standard of counselling and therapy to all my clients. So I have regular meetings with a supervisor (an experienced therapist) at which I discuss my client work, including my work with you. However, I do not discuss any unnecessary personal information about you with my supervisor.
